What is purging and why does it happen?

Hey there!

It’s MNA ETT!

What is purging? A “purge” starts when we increase the skin's cellular turnover (aka the rate of which new, healthy cells reach the surface of the skin) is increased. This can push old, dead cells that clog pores and cause breakouts to the surface.

Many people think purging from new products mean the products aren’t good for their skin. Though some products may not be compatible with your skin, think of a purge as starting a new workout plan; you’re always sore in the beginning.

Indications that your products are compromising your skin & should be stopped immediately:-rash or hives-puffy, raised areas of the skin-skin redness-small, red spots on the skin-itching, stinging, or burning sensation-red, itchy eyes-watery eyes-blisters-dry, cracked skin

If you’re concerned about your skin’s condition after starting a new product, feel free to send me photos of your skin with a brief summary and we will make sure you’re on the right path to healthy skin!
