Is "Clean Skincare" Better?
Hello there!
Welcome back to Esthetician Tip Tuesday!
The term "clean skincare" is creating waves in the beauty industry. But are these products better or just another marketing gimmick? Today, we'll bust some myths about clean skincare and its benefits.
You may have heard brands promoting their skincare products as 'clean', implying they're pure, safe, and free from harsh chemicals.
But here's what they don't tell you:
Clean skincare products often lack necessary preservatives that stabilize and deliver the product.
Products without preservatives risk bacterial contamination, leading to potential skin reactions and infections. They also have a shorter shelf life, which can result in spoilage and wasted money.
The term "clean" in marketing is misleading and often used to fear-monger about synthetic ingredients, despite the fact that many of them are safe and beneficial for your skin.
Here are three things to consider when choosing your skincare products.
Read the ingredient list and do your own research on the safety and efficacy of each ingredient.
Look beyond marketing buzzwords. "Clean," "natural," or "organic" doesn't always mean better.
Consult with a skincare professional to understand what ingredients are beneficial for your specific skin type and concerns.
What matters most is the science behind the ingredients, not the label on the front of the bottle.
